How to use it

The audio guide app is free to download. Before your visit, install it and download the Dueñas content (WiFi recommended, as the download is large). When you arrive, open the app, turn on location services, and follow the cues as you move through the palace. Each room and courtyard has a “stop” with audio narration explaining the history, architecture, and the Alba family. You move between stops at your own pace.

The audio guide is available in English, Spanish, Catalan, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Chinese and Japanese. Choose your language when you download.

What it covers

The narration goes through the main courtyard, galleries, state rooms, the Cayetana memorabilia, the chapel, and the gardens. It includes historical context (the palazzo’s construction, the Alba family, Machado’s connection) and architectural detail (the tilework, the columns, the design choices). It’s thorough without being overwhelming.

What if the free Monday slot doesn’t include audio?

The free Monday afternoon slot covers entry only, not the audio guide. If you visit on a free Monday, you won’t have the app commentary. Many visitors are fine with this; others buy the €15 timed ticket instead for the audio included. Your choice.
